Upon completion of the training, the signed TRLab service request form will be emailed to the user and PI to gain access to Class I equipment in PSC B2 (autoclave), B3 (water systems), 402B, 510 and 527 for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Equipment Training

There are three categories of TRLab equipment: Class I, II and III. A complete list of equipment in each category can be found on FBS. Please refer to the steps below to request equipment training with an equipment-specific trainer or TRLab.

  1. Reserve equipment for “assisted” use through FBS. Enter “training” and the trainer’s name in the comment box on your FBS reservation.
  2. Class I Equipment: Training is determined by the user’s PI and can be scheduled by following the steps below. After first use, please contact PI and TRLab for “unassisted” use.
  3. Class II and Class III Equipment Only: Schedule equipment assessment with a trainer or TRLab. Class II trainers are independent users. Class III trainers are certified superusers.
  4. Class II and Class III Equipment Only: Reserve equipment for “assisted” use through FBS. Enter “assessment” and trainer name in the comment box on your FBS reservation.

After successful completion of equipment training and assessment, the user emails trainer, PI and TRLab so the user can schedule for “unassisted” use through FBS to use independently.
