MS in Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology

Graduates of USC Mann’s multidisciplinary master’s degree programs are highly sought after by leading institutions in academia, industry and government. The Master of Science in Molecular Pharmacology & Toxicology program emphasizes training in molecular mechanisms of disease highlighting drug therapy in disease states. Coursework emphasizes molecular pharmacology and the interaction of drugs with cell physiology. Research areas are primarily laboratory-based and include drug design and development, receptor pharmacology, pharmacodynamics, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology and pharmacology, immunology, metabolism and biochemistry, molecular- and neuro-pharmacology, and oxidant and environmental toxicology. The MPTX MS program and the PSCI MS program are both administered under the umbrella of the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
