This is a multi-site community-based residency program that balances experiences in community pharmacy and ambulatory care, pharmacy operations, and pharmacy administration. We offer unique perspectives on the practice of pharmacy and emphasize areas such as clinical practice, teaching, research and project management, collaborative practice development, entrepreneurship, leadership, and community service. Community-based pharmacy practitioners and advanced practice pharmacists are community-focused practice leaders capable of improving the health of patients within the communities they serve, wherever health and medication needs arise.
The program is a multisite program with primary sites located across Los Angeles County in the academic medical center pharmacy, corporate/supermarket chain pharmacy, independent pharmacy, or specialty pharmacy settings and clinics.

When applying for the PGY1 community-based pharmacy residency program at USC Mann, you may apply to any combination of our sites when selecting your designations in PhORCAS. However, due to changes in ASHP payment schedule, you will be charged a separate application fee for each site that you select within our program.
To avoid the multiple application fee, you may select only one of our sites and then fill out our supplemental application, where you can designate which sites you would like to apply to. The supplemental application can then be uploaded to your PhORCAS application. When completing your rankings in NMS, you will be able to rank each program separately, regardless of which one you applied to through PhORCAS.
