Smoking cigarettes is considered a major global health problem as approximately one in 5 individuals smoke cigarettes daily and are at increased risk for death and disease.
This ACPE-accredited application-based online continuing education program has been designed to prepare pharmacists to serve as reimbursable providers of nicotine replacement therapy and counseling to facilitate smoking cessation. The course begins with a review of the latest CDC guidelines and CA Board of Pharmacy AB1114 legislation.
Dr. Rory Kim guides participants through case-based modules to apply non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatments for smoking cessation. This program satisfies the CA Board of Pharmacy requirements for pharmacists to receive reimbursement for the provision of nicotine replacement therapy and smoking cessation counseling under AB1114.
