Steve Chen, associate dean for clinical affairs and the William A. and Josephine A. Heeres Chair in Community Pharmacy, has been appointed co-chair of the National Hypertension Control Roundtable (NHCR) for a two-year term starting in 2025.
In this role, Chen will help guide national efforts to eliminate disparities in hypertension control through collaboration, evidence-based strategies, and innovative solutions.
NHCR brings together healthcare leaders, policymakers and organizations that work toward a comprehensive approach to improving hypertension control across the U.S.
Chen, who founded the California Right Meds Collaborative, also serves as director of the Titus Center for Medication Safety and Population Health, which works to achieve equitable health and community well-being for patients with uncontrolled chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
