As we look ahead to Commencement next month, the spring 2024 edition of our newsletter showcases some of our latest news and activities.
We’re thrilled to welcome Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker and philanthropist Sean Penn to campus to deliver the keynote address at our 117th commencement on Saturday, May 11. As the co-founder and chairman of the global humanitarian nonprofit organization CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), he worked selflessly with us and Los Angeles agencies to raise awareness to stop COVID-19’s spread, and to operate the country’s largest COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution mega-site at Dodger Stadium. I know our graduates, their families and guests will be inspired by his remarks.
We also share more details about USC Mann’s sports pharmacy initiative, which began back in January 2023 with an elective course in sports pharmacy therapeutics, among other news. Thank you for your support, which helps make the Mann School’s work all possible.
