An Update from the Dean

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Dean Vassilios Papadopoulos

Earlier this month we commemorated our school’s historic naming, a milestone in our school’s 118-year history. It was a pleasure and an honor to join University of Southern California President Carol L. Folt, USC Trustee Chair Suzanne Nora Johnson and hundreds of Trojans in celebrating the $50 million gift that names our school the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Our Winter 2023 newsletter helps illustrate how USC Mann opens new paths forward in clinical care, pharmaceutical science and education. We highlight a new NIH grant, novel research, and steps we’re taking to continue to ensure the well-being of our community, including hiring our first full-time, on-site wellness counselor.

At USC Mann, our name has changed, but our mission remains steadfast: to advance health through pharmacy education, research and practice. Thank you for your support, which helps make it all possible.

Sincerely,

Vassilios Papadopoulos, DPharm, PhD, DSc (hon)
Dean, USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
