Preceptors were recognized for their dedication and exceptional work in providing hands-on training to PharmD students in diverse pharmacy practice settings.
The USC Mann School Office of Professional Experience Programs provides PharmD students with a wide range of opportunities to gain hands-on experience practicing in diverse pharmacy settings through the mentorship of more than 400 preceptors, volunteer faculty and clinical site tutors throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
On Tuesday, June 14, the school honored the preceptors at the 2022 Preceptor Appreciation Reception at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles.
The evening began with remarks from Dean Vassilios Papadopoulos and Ying Wang, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy and director of the Office of Professional Experience Programs, who thanked the preceptors for their commitment to delivering hands-on clinical training despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. “It was under your supervision and guidance that students were able to continue to receive training and practice pharmacy, gaining invaluable experiences they will carry with them for the rest of their careers,” Wang said.
The evening concluded with an awards presentation in which five preceptors were recognized for excellence in various disciplines. Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center was recognized as the best clinical teaching site.
