Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As we celebrate the holiday season, this edition of our newsletter showcases some of our latest advances and updates.
We highlight the school’s new sports pharmacy initiative, which includes a four-course executive certificate program open to practicing pharmacists as well as students actively enrolled in a pharmacy program. We also showcase curricular advances such as the school’s new course in digital health and artificial intelligence in pharmacy.
Our faculty spotlight shines on innovative research by Clay Wang, chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, on upcycling composite materials into useful products, and by Dima M. Qato, Hygeia Centennial Chair and associate professor of clinical pharmacy, on mapping pharmacy deserts.
And we link to the Health 3.0 issue of Trojan Family Magazine, which explores how USC researchers and clinicians are caring for—and collaborating with—local communities to develop novel treatments for complex diseases.
Thank you for your support, which helps make the Mann School’s work possible.
Sincerely,
Vassilios Papadopoulos, DPharm, PhD, DSc (hon)
Dean, USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
