Dr. Edith Mirzaian is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and the Associate Dean of Curriculum at USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the USC School of Pharmacy in 2001 and completed a residency in Community-based Pharmacy Practice at USC in 2002. She is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, holds the Certificate of Knowledge in Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine, and is a Fellow of the California Pharmacists Association.
In her administrative role, Dr. Mirzaian, as the Associate Dean of Curriculum, is responsible for the oversight, resources, and advancement of the four-year Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum including curriculum development, innovation and support, and development of teaching and assessment methodologies and policies.
In addition to her administrative role in higher education, Dr. Mirzaian continues her work in immunizations drawing from her extensive clinical practice experiences including the implementation of a wide range of pharmacist-led patient care programs in medical clinics and community pharmacies in Los Angeles County, development of collaborative practice agreements with physicians to provide chronic disease management and preventative health services in clinics and pharmacies.
Dr. Mirzaian is a national faculty trainer for the American Pharmacists Association Pharmacy Based Immunization Training Program, Travel Health and Diabetes Care Program and has served to educate and train pharmacists and student pharmacists in immunizations, vaccine confidence, travel medicine and the pharmacists’ role as public health clinicians and advocates in immunizations throughout the United States.
