USC Mann has an exceptional record of student scholarly achievement. Our graduate students co-authored close to 540 publications with their advisors over the past 10 years, with an average rate of 4.4 publications/ student. They have also garnered a significant number of fellowships and national awards.
Students who graduate from the school’s three laboratory-based PhD programs—Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSCI), Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology (MPTX), and Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics (CXPT)—go on to secure prestigious, career-advancement positions in academic and pharmaceutical settings:
- Graduates have secured highly competitive postdoctoral positions at UCLA, California Institute of Technology, Stanford, Harvard and the Salk Institute.
- A cadre of graduates has landed positions at premier California-based pharmaceutical companies including Allergan, Genentech, Amgen and Bristol-Myers Squibb. PhD in Health Economics graduates are in high demand within the pharmaceutical industry, managed care organizations, and consulting firms.
- In the Department of Regulatory and Quality Science, most students entering the Doctorate in Regulatory Science (DRSc) program already have an MS or PhD and are often sponsored by the company for which they work, returning to more advanced positions following training.
